About
Hello! I am a Latino, first-generation college student, and PhD candidate in the Sociology Department at the University of Oregon. My research focuses on understanding how diffferent mechanisms of settler-colonialism, capitalism, and empire have created and destroyed racilized identites for the Indigenous communites that call the United States home. I previously worked as a research fellow with the Indigenous Sentinels Network, where I traveled across Alaska to support ecological monitoring efforts with Alaskan Native communities. I have a B.A. in sociology from California State University, San Bernardino and a Msc. in sociology from the University of Oregon. I am also part of the FireGeneration Collaborative and Water Climate Trust, where I contribute to community-centered research.
